Hi. I was wondering how you all felt about having the option of turning off private QN's while still having pubblic QN's on. Is that possible to do? I personally think this is a good idea because although I might like to talk to everyone, I don't like to be bugged privately. hehehehe Did that make sense? Well, please post how you feel! Thanks.

I do c where havin private off and public on would be a good idea in situations, mostly dependin on the person. U can have either all qn's, just private or none at all. They should try and make it so that the option of just public is available to all as well as just private.

I think it's a good idea.

I like getting private QN's so don't think I would really like that feature. One thing I would like is to be able to designate one person you want to exchange private QN's with so that other people couldn't bother you when you are in a serious PQN conversation with someone. It's too much trouble to put other people on ignore temporaily and then take them off later.

Oh but Cat lover. You don't have to use this new feature if you don't want to. I was just posting it for those of us who would like to use it. I think that having it as an option at least is a good idea!

well when I can find someone who's content not to multitask when they're talking to me and leave me hanging, not knowing if they're going to answer me or not, I like private qns better than public ones for an obvious reason, plus, I usually get ignored in public qns anyways. I'd like to see a feature where you could add people to your quicknote list, and have it so that only the users you choose would even know you had quicknotes on at all. The reason I'd like this is because of people who qn me first, then just leave me hanging when something better comes along. By this I mean, people who don't even bother to say, well, I'm going to talk in public qns now, or I'm going to play hangman now, so talk to you later, something like that. I like the qn console when I have a quick qn responder, because I'm not much of a multitasker anyway, so when I'm talking to someone, I'm not doing anything else, so it's boring and frustrating waiting on people for what seems like an eternity for someone to respond just because they're multitasking, especially when they qned me in the first place.

it isn't a feature i'd ever use but i guess i don't see any major problems with it. though michelle i am struck by the thought that, if these people are getting that irritating why not just put them on ignore? lol.

Don't think this is terribly hard to do, though it'll take a bit of work.

Naw, private quicknotes turned off - I don'T like the idea. Public, yes. But not private. I love having private notes. However I wouldn'T mind the option - I would just never use it.

Ya. remember, it's just an option. So it won't effect you at all if you choose not to use it.

well, personally, I think it's rather a pointless option, but...well, that's your call oh mighty admin!

Post 14 by wonderwoman (I've now got the silver prolific poster award! wahoo!) on Monday, 19-Sep-2005 19:56:21

I don't see anything wrong with an option, as long as it doesn't force anyone to use it. I like the quicknote console, because there's nothing else but the quicknotes, but I just don't have anyone to use the feature with, for the reasons I mentioned in an above post. Oh, and when I turned public qns off and set them to private the other night, it took me out of the qn console, why is that?

If you do anything you'll be taken out of the console. type /con in a quicknote window to go back or pick the link from the main menu.

Well I don't see shy you couldn't get this option, but I agree with Maddog - in my opinion it is pointless.
